To prune well, you need both technical knowledge and a sense of artistry. In this class we’ll cover everything you need to know in order to prune correctly, and how that bears upon the artistry of pruning various types of shrubs and trees. Learn about the when & why, the difference between heading & thinning cuts, what a good cut looks like, and how to encourage the shape you are trying to achieve. Please note that we will only be discussing ornamental plants; we will not be discussing pruning fruiting trees & shrubs in this class (watch for our class on how to prune your fruiting plants in January!).
