Whidbey Island Grown Cooperative provides marketing, sales, and outreach activities on behalf of its members and Food Hub vendors to grow sales for local businesses and increase community awareness and demand for authentically local products. We encourage our members to take advantage of as many opportunities as possible. Below is a list of tactics that WIGC uses to promote its members and Food Hub vendors to grow your customer base and maximize sales.

  • WIGC Branded Marketing Materials - download marketing materials below or reach out to request printed materials, twist ties, and banners.

  • WIGC Website - members are listed on our site with logos and contact information. We promote events and have a Guide to Buying Local. Link to our site and let your customers know they can support you here.

  • Food Hub Website - the online LFM marketplace has a Meet Your Producers page listing logos, pictures, and stories of all producers. Link to your profile page and your customers can buy directly from you.

  • Weekly Newsletters - we send out a weekly reminder to buy from the Food Hub, highlighting new products, newly onboarded producers, and feature a producer each week with a story and pictures. Let us know if you have a new product or special item that we can promote to our email list of 4000 people.

  • Producer Features - we create feature stories for producers to share the story of your business on our website, social media, and in our newsletter. Contact our market manager to schedule a visit and interview.

  • Social Media - tag @whidbeyislandgrown in your posts and we will repost them. Share with your customers and followers why you participate in the Food Hub, and encourage them to support us too.

  • Chat us up - our customers report that the number one way they hear about WIGC’s programs is through word of mouth. Talk to your customers, vendors, friends, neighbors, and family to let them know who we are, why you support us, and how they can support you by supporting us.

  • Events - we plan events throughout the year, including Eat Local Month and Whidbey Island Grown Week in September. Participate in events when you can and promote them to your people.
