Wildfire on Whidbey?

  • Whidbey Island Center for the Arts 565 Camano Avenue Langley, WA, 98260 United States (map)

THINK THE UNTHINKABLE:  The wind scorches, the air chokes, and all you can see is smoke and leaping flames. WILDFIRE! Can you get out? Where can your family be safe? What can you take with you? How can you protect your home and belongings?

Remember Lahaina…British Columbia…and much of western North America on fire? Remember Paradise – under threat again – where 85 people died? Survivors ask too late what they could have done to avoid this tragedy and loss. Let’s NOT be them!

Buy tickets now at Whidbey Island Center for the Arts for this important all-day event.

Experts, government and community leaders will explore with us how climate change is making wildfire more likely here and everywhere, how the County is preparing for fire emergencies, what steps to take now to “harden” our homes and property, what to do in case of fire, and how Island County residents can protect and restore the natural systems that lessen our risk and keep us safer.

The world is changing. We must act now.

Join us – and your neighbors – and find out what we can do.
